Three members of the Colourworks team – Marketing Assistant Mia Thompson, Marketing Manager Samantha de Villiers and Copywriter / Social Media Manager Kate Chauncey – attended the latest installment of PR-Net‘s series of topical talks by PR personalities.

Held at the Mount Nelson on Tuesday the 1st of February, the topic for the day was crowdsourcing, with talks by Evly and Spring Leap‘s Eran Eyal and Idea Bounty‘s Daniel Neville.

Both speakers enlightened the crowd on the phenomenon of crowdsourcing and its potential as a model to bypass traditional methods of idea formation and brainstorming. Crowdsourcing has been used successfully by both entrepreneurs to develop databases of creative thinkers who harness their skills and compete to win cash prizes by putting their best ideas forward. Between them they have worked with brands as illustrious as FNB, Bluebean and Chevrolet.

PR-Net is a great way to network with other PR folk and stay on top of trends. The next two PR-Net talks feature social media sensation Chris Rawlinson and veteran journalist Brian Joss. We’ll catch you on Monday 28 March at Barrister’s in Newlands for the PR-Net talk featuring local blogging successes Eamon and Clare Mack of and Andy Fenner of Jamie Who.

It’s sure to be one you don’t wanna miss!
