This is not a venue for low budget events, all décor, food, furniture, technical and AV, staff, kitchen and bar facilities have to be hired and brought in.

Are there any logistical complications?
None, it is an easy venue to work in.

What do you love the most about this venue?

The location is beautiful with spectacular views of the city, stadium and mountain on one side and the ocean on the other, it always takes our guests’ breath away. It’s also conveniently close to the V&A Waterfront, which makes it easy for guests to find. It’s a blank canvas in terms of décor, especially because there are no height restrictions due to its beautiful high ceilings. It really is one of the most versatile venues we’ve worked with, your imagination is really your only limit here.

What kind of event suits it best?

Cocktail events, year-end functions, award ceremonies. The Lookout is great for fun events or activations. It is ideal venue to host unique entertainment, making it perfect for our events which always have to have The Fizz.

How would you describe the venue to potential clients to sell it to them?

This venue’s location is hard to beat. It’s big enough to allow flexibility in terms of how it’s used: you can use your imagination with décor and how you use the venue- it doesn’t have a specific look and feel, which means you can put your event’s special touch on it in every way!

What is your favourite event you’ve held here? Why?

A Red Carpet award ceremony that Colourworks put on for one of our valued clients. The way the venue was laid out allowed us to set up a red carpet entrance which gave our guests a truly memorable introduction to the event. Each guest was greeted by paparazzi screaming their names and taking photos and by a celebrity hostess who interviewed them and made them feel like stars! The flow worked really well so that once the guests had had their waltz down the red carpet, they could move easily to the welcome cocktail area to mingle and listen to smooth live music. Specially draped for the event were red curtains which pulled back to reveal the impressive ceremony room. The flexibility of this venue really was the star of the evening for us.
