A group of dynamic young ladies from Langa High School conceptualised and started a company called Soulmate. In a Highschool Entrepreneurial Society challenge, these ladies were tasked to solve a problem. After critically evaluating various solutions, Soulmate was their solution to a lack of catering equipment for funerals in their community.

Soulmate brings catering equipment to help ease the stress at a funeral. They further developed the idea to so that the business caters rents catering equipment for weddings, birthday parties, traditional events, business functions, anniversaries and more.

As part of an initiative to help startups from the Highschool Entrepreneurial Society, Colourworks teamed up with our sister company, Over the Rainbow to help Phumla, Reabetswe, Thandokazi, and Noluncumo with a brand identity for their new venture.

We asked these teens some questions:

Why do you wan to be entrepreneurs? To leave a legacy.

What are they most passionate about? Serving you with excellence and solving conflicts in events.

What was the lesson you learned from the process of launching this business? We learned about our strengths. We learned to dig deep and find the solution and keep an open mind. To be independent.

What did you like the most about the brand identity you received from Colourworks? The conceptualisation and colours they used. It carries meaning and energy. So far, we feel in the best hands.

What are the next steps for your business? Spread the word and market ourselves to get it started as soon as possible.
